Cytosolic phospholipase A2 associates with natural membranes in response to physiological increases in Ca2+and selectively hydrolyses arachidonyl phospholipids [], the aligned region corresponds the carboxy-terminal Ca2+-independent catalytic domain of the protein as discussed in [].
